Thank you donors!

In response to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, GSCF has created the 2020 COVID-19 Recovery Fund, which is now active to accept donations. Donations will be directed for relief and recovery efforts for our local people who are in greatest need due to the current pandemic situation. All donations will be converted to Sabetha Chamber checks to be used to shop locally, which will then uphold many businesses that have been hurt economically.

1. What is the GSCF Sabetha - The City with Heart Assistance Fund?

The Sabetha - The City with Heart Fund at the Greater Sabetha Community Foundation has been established to receive donations to benefit those in the Sabetha area who are in great need as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We know that the impact of the coronavirus will make it financially challenging for area families and small businesses to meet the needs for recovery from this disastrous event. The 2020 COVID-19 Recovery Fund will focus on the short and long-term recovery of our neighbors and local businesses. The fund is able to accept contributions from individual donors, corporations and foundations. The fund has been established to serve as an emergency assistance fund for this time and for emergencies in the future.

2. Why support both short-term and long-term recovery? Why not just immediate relief?

When a disaster strikes, on average, 70% of donations are directed to immediate relief and a significantly smaller portion goes to recovery and rebuilding, a process that can take many years. Long after media attention has shifted, Greater Sabetha Community Foundation will provide support to address the significant long-term critical needs of our community.

3. Why Greater Sabetha Community Foundation?

Greater Sabetha Community Foundation is credible, transparent and connected. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, GSCF has established the2020 COVID-19 Recovery Fund. For the last 5 years GMCF has enriched the lives of the people in our communities through philanthropy. We are a source of funding for local nonprofits and public entities, thus longstanding relationships are already in place. We are committed to building philanthropy and connecting people who care with causes that matter.

4. Who will the Sabetha - The City with Heart Assistance Fund support?

The COVID-19 Recovery Fund will support local citizens in our immediate area and as we support people, this plan will support the local businesses that are doing their best to serve the community by providing meals, needed household products and services, personal services, clothing, photography, farm supplies, pet supplies, the list goes on! Sabetha is fortunate to have a thriving Main Street and small businesses that are willing to meet your immediate personal or household needs. GSCF intends to support them as well.
