Clyde E Epple

Clyde Erich Epple, of Sabetha, died peacefully on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the age of 83. He was born to Erich and Freda (Wenger) Epple in their home south of Sabetha, assisted by a midwife, on February 27, 1933. He was the first of five children.

He attended the Victory School at Rock Creek through the eighth grade. This ended any formal education when it became necessary to work on the family farm. After serving his country in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957 he worked with his brothers on the family farm. During this time he married Karla Miller on July 24, 1960. To this union four children were born; Rodney Joe, Cory Wayne, Michael Wade, and Brandy Kay.

Rodney is married to Jackie (Mitchell) and they raised two daughters, Charlotte (James) Worden and Debra Thompson and have three grandchildren, Gregor, Elizabeth, and Jaxon, making Clyde a great-grandpa. Cory is married to Kathryn (Frey) and they have three children, Kisha (Jose) Rodriguez and their son, Junior, Kylie and Connor. Brandy is married to Ryan Edelman. They have three children, Kendrick, Laura, and Ava. Clyde was very proud of his
children and grandchildren.

Clyde was on the Rock Creek Township board for more than 30 years. As a member of the Congregational Church in Sabetha, he served as trustee. He was well know for his expertise in carpentry and built many beautiful homes in the Sabetha area over a period of 50 years until his retirement. He was always willing to help his clients with decisions for their homes, served the community in various capacities, and will always be remembered for his hearty, contagious laugh.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Karla, sons Rodney and Cory, daughter Brandy, brothers Edwin and Gale and their families, and sister Evelyn and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lila, and his son Mike. Clyde is now awaiting his family and resting in Peace with Mike and his Savior, Jesus, for Eternity.
