Erik Hertzel was a 1998 graduate of Sabetha High School. Professionally, Erik was highly respected for his work in the banking industry. Personally, Erik was a man of great faith.

**Gary & Virginia McDaniel Scholarship (ALL USD 113) - $5000

Virginia (Mann) grew up in Highland, KS. After high school she attended Clark's Business School in St. Joseph, MO.  Gary attended high school in Seneca, KS and is a graduate of Highland Community College with an Associate of Science Degree.
After marriage, they began their working career with Caterpillar Tractor Co, in Peoria, IL. Employment with Wenger Manufacturing brought them back to NE KS and Sabetha.  They founded MAC Equipment and actively managed it for over 30 years. Upon their retirement they moved to Las Vegas, NV.
Gary & Virginia are an example of success that can be accomplished with perseverance, dedication, hard work, honesty and integrity

Peggy Brant was a longtime citizen of Sabetha and an active member of the Business Professional Women's Club & her church.

Raymond Rokey & Ned W. Rokey, DVM Endowment & Memorial Scholarship - $7500

The scholarship was initially established in 2003 by Ned W Rokey DVM within the NED W ROKEY FAMILY TRUST. This scholarship was made to honor his brother, Raymond Rokey, who was Ned's best friend. Both Ned and Ray attended Sabetha High School. They excelled in athletics, academics, and leadership. Ned and his brother were the first in their family to attend college through scholarships provided by Kansas State University.

Tara Ploeger Scholarship - 2 @ $1000 1 for 4yr college/1 for votech

While attending Sabetha High School, Tara Lee Ploeger volunteered in the towns of Morrill and Sabetha.  Working at Country Mart, the Sabetha Hospital, and a local daycare, Tara was known for her smile and bubbly personality. With plans to be a teacher, she volunteered at the elementary school with first graders.  It was through loving and caring for people that Tara left an incredible impact on all who knew her.
